Course Overview

Please Note: This is an Audio and Reading Course. Nourishing Life is the Chinese medical specialty of helping the body to age without unnecessary deterioration. It has been practiced for more than 2,000 years and was emphasized in the Huang Di Nei Jing. Moxibustion has been one of the favored modalities for nourishing life since the Tang dynasty. In this course, we will discuss the history, theory, and philosophy of nourishing life, learn two specific methods using direct moxibustion, and practice using direct moxibustion to nourish life.

Course Objectives

• To learn how to make Purple Cloud (Zi Yun Gao) ointment
• What Direct moxibustion is and how to use it, how to make cones for use with Direct moxibustion, the type of floss needed for effective Direct moxibustion
• How to apply, light and reduce patient discomfort with Direct moxibustion, the bamboo tube technique for Direct moxibustion, how to use Direct moxibustion to Nourish Life
