Course Overview
This is a Live Webinar event that will be held on October 29, 2024 - 12:30am IST. The world of orthopedic assessment can be overwhelming to those attempting to memorize every test for every body region for every condition. While it is important to have a robust knowledge of tests you feel comfortable implementing in the clinic, there are ways to help broadly understand the underlying concepts of orthopedic and muscle testing. The instructor, Derrick McBride, has organized tests from the entire body into 3 types of tests that can be easily digested and applied to many conditions all over the body. These types of tests include Compression Based Orthopedic Tests, Tension Based Orthopedic Tests, and Force Based Muscle Tests. In this course, Force Based Muscle Tests, Derrick McBride presents the global concept of applying force to anatomical tissues for the diagnosis of orthopedic injuries and local stagnation patterns. Specific examples will be used to show the versatility of the concept presented. Some examples of tests include: (1) Differentiating Hip Abductors such as Gluteus Medius, Gluteus Minimus, and Tensor Fascia Latae (2) Differentiating Hip Adductors such as Adductor Longus, Adductor Magnus, and Gracilis (3) Trunk Stabilizers commonly involved in Low Back Pain At the end of the course, the students will feel comfortable with multiple ways of applying force to muscles for more specific diagnoses of local stagnation patterns. This is a skill set you dont want to miss out on! The recordings will be made available for you to review after the event!
